With 11.22 million foreign tourists in 2024, the Bahamas saw a surge in tourism, topping the previous record of 9.65 million visits in 2023

The destination had a 54.7% increase in international air and marine arrivals throughout 2019 and a 16.2% increase over the previous year, despite the challenges posed by hurricanes Milton and Oscar. Just foreign air arrivals exceeded 1.7 million, matching 2023 estimates and surpassing 2019 statistics by 3.3%.

With 1.15 million tourists , December 2024 was the most successful month on record, 14% more than December 2023 and 62% more than 2019.

Air arrivals increased by 8.7% on Grand Bahama Island and 11.9% on Abaco over 2023

As per a report by the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA), cruise travel continues to be a significant economic engine, producing US$654.8 million in expenditures during the 2023/2024 cruise year

Additionally, foreign direct investments were vital in supporting The Bahamas’ brand, especially in the luxury market. Prestigious international companies including Rosewood, Six Senses, Montage, Park Hyatt, Bulgari, and Four Seasons Residences have invested over $10 billion in the nation in the last two years.

Director General of Tourism Latia Duncombe attributed the remarkable development in tourism to creative marketing tactics, solid industry alliances, and the Bahamian people’s well-known hospitality.
