Russian tourists stranded on a Japanese cruise ship

Russian Tourists got stranded on cruise ship that got an engine problem which ship helps to help boost and promote world tourism

Russia’s Embassy in Japan stated Thursday that more than 500 Russian tourists are stuck on a cruise ship that is parked in Japan while they wait for Tokyo to give them clearance to go back home.

Passengers on board Royal Caribbean International’s Spectrum of the Seas have posted on social media that the ship is now in Yokohama port because of an engine issue.

Of the ship’s estimated 3,500 passengers, 538 are Russian nationals with expired transit permits, according to the Russian Embassy in Japan.

In a statement posted on Facebook, the embassy stated, “The embassy immediately contacted Japan’s immigration service, which has expressed readiness to assist in organizing the departure of Russian citizens

The diplomatic delegation said that, pending a direct request from Royal Caribbean, Japanese officials agreed to permit the Russian visitors to fly from Tokyo to Shanghai and then back to Russia.

Citing the travel company CruClub, the Russian Union of Travel Industry stated that it anticipates Japanese officials will grant the trapped Russian travelers visa-free travel.

One of the biggest cruise ships in Asia, the Spectrum of the Seas, was traveling round-trip from Shanghai to Japan for seven nights.
