Vietnam Airlines and Etihad in co-operation
Vietnam Airlines and Etihad Airlines companies are following Emirates’ footsteps since all are member of SkyTeam.
Airline companies
The airline was created in 1956, and in April 1989 it became a state-owned company.
With hubs at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City and Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi.
Hanoi’s Long Biên district is where the Airlines’ headquarters are found.
With the exception of codeshared services, the airline operates 117 flights in 19 countries.
Following Emirates, Etihad is investigating a partnership with Vietnam Airlines improving tourism
Vietnam Airlines, a member of SkyTeam, and the Abu Dhabi-based airline have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore future collaboration. This covers possible code sharing as well as domains like cargo, maintenance, ground handling, and loyalty program reciprocation.
It follows the signing of separate memorandums of understanding on possible cooperation between Vietnam Airlines and Vietnamese low-cost carrier VietJet by Dubai carrier Emirates on October 29.
Memorandum of Understanding
“This Memorandum of Understanding is a significant milestone to establishing a long-term mutually beneficial collaboration, opening the door for both airlines to explore the benefits of a deeper relationship,” says Jurriaan Stelder, vice-president of alliances at Etihad.
Our shared goal is to increase both airlines’ capacity to serve and improve service to our clients.
