First Emirates A350 entry into service delayed again until January
First Emirates A350 entry into service delayed again until January 2025 there by affecting a number of Tourists
For months, people eager to board the newest aircraft type operated by the Dubai-based airline will have to wait a bit longer as Emirates prepares to introduce the Airbus A350 into its fleet.
The airline has disclosed that it has experienced its fourth delay in the delivery of its first Airbus A350-900, registered A6-EXA.
The aircraft will now be out of service with the ship until January 2025.
Delays have plagued the A350’s launch for a long time.
On September 15, 2024, the first A350 flight was supposed to depart Dubai for Bahrain to transport Tourists
Due to continuous Airbus delivery delays, this first flight was later postponed and assigned to a Dubai-Edinburgh-Dubai rotation on November 4, 2024.
It was subsequently postponed even more, and on December 2, 2024, the UAE’s National Day, it was scheduled to run on the same route.
The first flight was rescheduled to the Dubai-Edinburgh route on December 16, 2024, following another delay that was announced just days previously.
According to information released by Aeroroutes via X, it currently looks as though the much-anticipated but much-delayed inaugural flight won’t happen until 2025.
The flight from Dubai to Edinburgh is now set to launch the A350 on January 15, 2025. Until the A350s arrive on the route, Boeing 777-300ERs will operate the service.
The A350 from Emirates
The new widebody will also be used by the airline on flights to Ahmedabad, Bahrain, Bologna, Colombo, Kuwait City, Lyon, and Mumbai.
Although several of these services are now scheduled to commence in early February, they could be further modified in the event that further aircraft deliveries are delayed, just as the inaugural trip.
Aeroroutes states that the A350’s debut onto the other routes looks like this:
February 1, 2025, Dubai to Ahmedabad (delayed from January 16, 2025)
February 1, 2025: Dubai to Bahrain
Lagos to Bologna: 15 March 2025
March 1, 2025, from Dubai to Colombo
January 15, 2025 (delayed from December 16, 2024) from Dubai to Edinburgh
City of Kuwait to Dubai: February 1, 2025
Lyon to Dubai: March 1, 2025
February 1, 2025, Dubai to Mumbai (delayed from January 16, 2025).
With 65 A350-900s ordered from Airbus, Emirates anticipates receiving its first aircraft in September 2024.
However, Airbus’s supply chain problems have caused this timeline to continuously slide throughout 2024.
The airline still intends to receive ten A350s by the end of March 2025, though.
The aircraft will be flown by Emirates in three different classes: business class, premium economy, and economy.
