Emirates Airlines to Encourage Travel to Uganda
The Emirates Airline Group, which carried about 51.9 million passengers in 2023–2024, has revealed ambitions to encourage travel to Uganda
The airline plans to “identify and promote Uganda’s unique tourist attractions ahead of its 25th anniversary of operations in Uganda,” according to Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Taher, the Emirates Country Manager for Uganda, who spoke to President Museveni at State House Entebbe on Tuesday.
Representatives from Vietnam, Indonesia, Taiwan, India, Kuwait, Bahrain, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates were among the delegation’s international members.
Their goal is to sell Uganda’s “must-visit” tourism destinations to tourists from other countries.
President Museveni highlighted how Uganda’s equatorial position and diverse elevations contribute to its distinct climate.
mate because of its varied elevations and equatorial location.
In his cordial greeting to the team, President Museveni emphasized Uganda’s exceptional climate.
Uganda is one of the three nations in the world with a climate that is distinct due to its elevation and location on the equator. In Uganda, there are regions with permanent snow that are more than 1,000 meters above sea level and others that are more than 5,000 meters above sea level. Ecuador is another South American nation that, in my opinion, has a similar climate,” he stated.

When one of the delegates asked why Uganda produces the best coffee in the world, President Museveni said it’s because of the equator’s favorable environment, which encourages the growth of organic crops like coffee and pineapples.
When I put something that looked like pineapple fruits in my mouth after traveling to Washington, it tasted really sour. Sweet pineapples are found in Uganda. He reassured the Emirates group, “You are in the right place if you want good food and a good climate.”
President Museveni urged the delegation members to visit all of Uganda’s tourist destinations mentioning National Parks.
