Emergency landing on Colorado highway by Single engine plane on Sunday afternoon following take off from Cheyenne Colorado Wyoming
The small plane has made an emergency landing on a Colorado roadway.
The Police is sealing the road to allow the pilot to take off, but for now, crews are trying to tow it away. No injuries have been reported.
According to Boulder County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Carrie Haverfield, a c taking off from Wyoming to the Denver metro area has lost power and had to make an emergency landing on U.S. Highway 287 north of Niwot Road in the southbound lanes.
The route has then reopened after first being closed.
The first call was received shortly after 3 p.m, the time when the small single-engine Mooney aircraft landed on southbound lanes of highway 287 just north of Niwot.
According to Haverfield, no Tourists and the only person on board at the time and he is the 36-year-old pilot.
Thanks to his successful decision making and execution, he has walked away from the scene uninjured.
It is worthy noting that no one on the ground has got injuries from this incident.
The pilot and the responding agencies are currently determining whether the aircraft can take off or needs to be towed away after it was removed from the road.
The jet will stay at the area until the Federal Aviation Administration completes its investigation into the landing’s conditions, according to the sheriff’s office.
