KQ diverts some flights from JKIA to Tanzania due to poor visibility, other flights to Mombasa a Tourist destination in Kenya
Kenya Airways says that flights to Mombasa and Kilimanjaro in Tanzania will land at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), Nairobi.
The national airline blames Nairobi’s bad weather for the change.
We would like to notify our customers that several of our aircraft that were supposed to land at JKIA this morning have been diverted to Mombasa and Kilimanjaro.
According to Kenya Airways, this is because to the bad weather that has resulted in poor visibility.
The announcement was made in response to Thursday morning’s misty and foggy weather concerns from inhabitants of Nairobi and the neighbouring counties.
Additionally, KQ expects some delays in the arrival and departure of flights, which could cause inconvenience to patrons.
Customers who are impacted have been told to make advance planning.
The business then provided clarification, stating that the extremely foggy weather that had affected visibility had eased up, allowing the diverted flights to land.
“We would want to let our consumers know that visibility has improved and the fog has greatly decreased.
Consequently, every aircraft that was diverted has now safely touched down at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
The business has promised to put in a lot of effort to try to get back to business as usual as soon as possible.
