New Entebbe Airport terminal building opens up to public.

New Entebbe Airport terminal building opens to public ahead of inauguration as the terminal building renovation is seeing in more passengers

Entebbe AirportThe opening of the new Terminal is by UCCA representatives.                                  Along with the National Organising Committee for Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Chairperson Lucy Nakyobe and Security Minister Jim Muhwezi.                                    Plus Minister of Transportation and Works Gen. Katumba Wamala presided over the opening.

Spokesman for the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA), Vianny Lugya, claims that the structure is attached to the airport’s current terminal building.                               Mores so, is improving the passengers’ space experience during arrivals and departures.

Vianey says that passengers can now drive to and drop off at the terminal building when they use this newly renovated terminal.            As they get into their cars, they exit the building, Vianny adds.

During a tour of the renovated facilities, Col. Godfrey Tukamwakira, the project coordinator for the airport construction works, says.  That the engineering brigade of the Uganda Peoples Defence Forces began work in May 2023 and now can host delegates and the general public by the coming week.

The passenger terminals have unique features like lifts, canopy, air conditioning and fire fighting to match international standards

Guests attending the NAM-G77 this January 15–20, 2024 at Speke Resort Munyonyo Uganda are enjoying the new Airpot building.

Entebbe Airport is an expansion of Wilson Airways which began flying over Kenya a neighbouring country in 1929.                                And in 1947 the Directorate of Civil Aviation (DCA) was established.

In 1952 Entebbe international airport was built under the instruction of Princess Elizabeth of England.

In order to streamline and effectively manage the services, the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority was founded in 1991.
