Two American Airlines Planes Catch Fire
Two American Airlines Planes Catch Fire following an engine failure on the run way and a bird strike
Just a few days after another airliner caught fire on a runway, another American Airline plane catches fire after what may have been a bird strike.
No one wants to hear the word “fire” when flying through the skies in an airplane.
But on Thursday at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport, that is exactly what happened to an American Airlines flight.
The jet had to return to the terminal after the incident on the runway. Thankfully, no one was harmed. The tools were Airbus A-321s.
“Everyone tried to panic, but we were unable to escape. The biggest concern was that, according to traveler Claire Dundon.
The following statement was made by American: “Flight 2288 to Dallas-Fort Worth reported a mechanical issue and safely taxied back to the gate under its own power.”
American Travel news learned that another flight was used to transport the passengers to Dallas after that specific aircraft was taken out of service. As of early Saturday morning, the source of the fire remained a mystery.
