UN announces 55 Best Tourism Villages for 2024
A selection of 55 rural settlements, ranging from Bo Suak in Thailand, have been selected the Best Tourism Villages in 2024
The UN’s Best Tourism Villages initiative was started three years ago with the dual goals of highlighting rural villages that are gaining from tourism and recognizing the remarkable accomplishments of remote communities.
Notable efforts made by villages promoting local residents.
Even frequent travelers may not be familiar with many of the listed rural sites.
UN Tourism Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili stated in Huancaya (UN Best Tourism Villages): “Tourism is an essential tool for inclusion, empowering rural communities to preserve and value their rich cultural heritage while promoting sustainable development.”
These towns can boost tourism, stimulate economic growth, and improve the standard of living for their citizens by utilizing their special resources.
Pololikashvili said, “We honor the villages that have welcomed tourism as a means of achieving community well-being and empowerment, proving that sustainable practices can result in a better future for everybody.”
Seven communities in China made the list this year with 55 Best Tourism Villages for 2024
Guanyang is maintaining its strong Hakka heritage.
To learn more about the genuine history and culture of the area, tourists can visit museums, sample local specialties.
Lima and is well-known for its beautiful surroundings of turquoise lagoons and canyons, as well as Inca ruins.
Numerous European villages were also featured, such as Anogeia, which is nestled on the slopes of Mount Psiloritis.

Villages that dont satisfy the requirements considered for the UN Best Tourism Villages Upgrade Program
Twenty new locations joined the Upgrade Program in 2024.
The Best Tourism communities Network now includes 254 communities in total.
Giving them the opportunity to collaborate and exchange experiences in order to improve the rural experiences.
