Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, the Minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey, stated on Haberturk TV that the country is currently in the “super league” of tourism and that the country’s tourist industry aims to advance further in international tourism rankings.

Ersoy Turkish tourism objectives, which include aiming to rank in the top three globally and generating $60 billion in revenue this year.

Ersoy observed a notable surge in the number of tourists from markets such as China, South Korea, and the United States. More than a million American visitors visited Turkey last year, and more than 1.5 million are anticipated this year. In a similar vein, South Korean and Chinese tourists have significantly increased.

“We are seeing the figures we expected from these markets. Last year, we were given around

280,000 Chinese tourists, and we anticipate that number will rise to about 600,000 this year,” Ersoy continued.

With 179 campaigns carried out in 39 countries in partnership with airlines and tour operators, the Turkish Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) has played a significant role in promoting Turkey overseas. In order to reach 30 countries, TGA has also partnered with 15 digital travel channels.

Noting that tourists are crucial ambassadors for Turkey’s international image, he advised against the development of unfavorable opinions about them, especially on social media.

“Every visitor has economic worth, and they are our nation’s greatest representatives abroad,” he said.
