Mauritius tourism is growing, with over a million visitors since January and more expected this year 2024
The increasing number of visitors has also hinted at an impending boom in the years to come, beginning in 2024.
“Over this calendar year, I think we will be very close to 1. 3 million tourists, which was our objective,” stated Arvind Bundhun, Chief Executive Officer of the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority.
This was in an interview with VoyagesAfriq. “Let us keep fingers crossed for this year.” Upon reviewing the outlook, I am feeling really hopeful.
Bundhun states that Mauritius is confident in keeping its position as the best and most sought-after Tourism travel destination in the Indian Ocean.
He went a head to talk about the specifics of the accomplishments, he stated that in a span of ten months, from January to October 2023, the island received over 102, 6771 visitors.
He claims that the great development paves the way for an even more promising future in 2024.
According to Bundhun, Mauritius’s enormous potential and capability will keep it in the top position in the tourism industry, making the boom that is predicted for 2024 possible.
Mauritius, in my opinion, has potential.
To start with, our connectivity is excellent. Second, as you know, we have top-notch lodging and top-notch hotels. Thus, all of these components will enable us to serve as a platform for events occurring in the Indian Ocean, he promised.
A strategy plan to maintain and expand on the current success in the upcoming year has also been alluded to by the Managing Director. In addition, he reaffirmed his goal to establish Mauritius as the go-to location for sporting and cultural events.
Promoting Mauritius as a venue for sporting and cultural events is our main responsibility.
Cultural Tourism
We are organising events throughout the week that centre around language and culture. As a means of showcasing Mauritius as a large platform for events, and the golf tournaments are scheduled for next week.
Their strategy strategies now include incorporating diversity by encouraging inclusion in other Tourism areas.
Our goal is to increase the variety of our travel markets. Our destination is heavily centred around Europe. But we’re branching out to India and the Middle East.
We are truly broadening our portfolio because, in my opinion, Africa has a great deal of potential as well,” Bundhun said.
