Exclusive: We announce the first flights to seven UK airports.

Emirates to resume all flightsDespite an Iranian attack on its hub at Dubai airport, Emirates, the largest airline in the Gulf, is starting large-scale flights again.

The airport, which is typically the busiest global hub in the world, temporarily paused flights on Saturday in response to new drone strikes in the UAE city, and passengers were transported into tunnels.

However, Emirates declared that it would keep expanding its flights to and from its hub in Dubai.

In a statement on X, the airline stated that it predicts a quick return to normalcy:

“The airline anticipates a return to 100% of its network within the coming days, subject to airspace availability and the fulfilment of all operational requirements.””As always, safety and our duty of care are paramount.”

“Emirates is operating a curtailed flight schedule while striving to restore full network operations following the partial reopening of regional airspace.

“We prioritise serving clients and Tourists with previous reservations. Only those with a confirmed reservation should go to the airport.

Links to the UK and India are Emirates’ top priorities.

The airline is selling tickets for its flights between Dubai and eight British airports, indicating a return to commercial operations rather than repatriation flights.

There are several daily arrivals at London Heathrow, and starting on Monday, March 9, tickets for flights from Dubai will be available.

The Independent’s test reservations indicate that the following departures from other UK airports are the first to go on sale:

Edinburgh: 2.10 p.m. on Thursday, March 12; Birmingham: 6.40 a.m. on Friday, March 13
Gatwick: Tuesday, March 10 at 1:35 p.m.
Glasgow: Tuesday, March 10 at 6.40 a.m.
Manchester: Friday, March 13, 1.45 a.m.
Newcastle: Wednesday, March 11 at 6:45 a.m.
Stansted: Sunday, March 15, 8.15 a.m.
Virgin Atlantic is cancelling flights while Emirates is increasing connections to and from Dubai.

Due to the most recent Iranian attack on the airport, its Saturday flight from London Heathrow to Dubai was cancelled.

Before discontinuing operations on the route for the remainder of the season, Virgin Atlantic plans one more outbound trip to Dubai and the inbound return.

On Monday, March 9, Qatar Airways will run six passenger flights, including one from London Heathrow, to its hub in Doha.

The airline emphasises that these flights are “only for passengers whose final destination is Doha” and states that “passengers are kindly asked not to arrive at their departure airport unless they hold a valid confirmed ticket for travel.”

“The resumption of scheduled commercial operations is not confirmed by these flights.”
