Atlantis Dubai appoints new Managing Director Accommodation, Kym Barter after serving as General Manager and Senior Vice President
During the Covid-19 pandemic, Barter joined the Atlantis leadership team, helping to prepare Atlantis The Royal for its pre-opening and spearheading the company’s superior food and beverage offerings.
Ossiano at Atlantis, The Palm, one of Dubai’s most renowned Tourist dining establishments, received an astounding three Michelin stars under his direction.
Two years later, Barter was promoted to SVP of Operations and General Manager, leading the 1,544-key Atlantis, The Palm through a historic 2024. Upgraded accommodations, the largest children’s club in the area, and internationally recognised dining experiences—including those created by celebrated Swedish chef Björn Frantzén—were all introduced during his tenure.
Atlantis Dubai praises Barter for his “visionary leadership, strategic insight, and unwavering dedication to excellence” as he was named General Manager of the Year.
Barter achievements in the Tourism industry over the years
Barter has over thirty years of expertise in F&B operations and luxury hospitality worldwide.
During his career, he held top leadership positions at Wynn Resorts, Nobu Hospitality, and IHG Hotels & Resorts.
He had previously been Vice President of Food and Beverage at Nobu Hospitality and Senior Vice President of Food and Beverage at Wynn and Encore Las Vegas before joining Atlantis.
He was instrumental in the opening of the Nobu Hotel Caesars Palace in Las Vegas and the Nobu Hotel Riyadh, the first upscale boutique hotel in Saudi Arabia, during his time there.
Barter’s hiring comes after Atlantis Dubai had a historic year, winning several awards at the 2026 Forbes Travel Guide Star Awards.
With five-star ratings for both its restaurant, Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, and hotel, Awaken Wellness Spa, Atlantis, The Royal, became the first “triple-five” resort in the Middle East and Africa.
