To Improve Connectivity, Abu Dhabi Opens a New Ferry Terminal on Al Aliah Island

Officially Abu Dhabi has opened a state-of-the-art ferry terminal on Al Aliah Island, enhancing transportation links for residents, workers, and Tourists while streamlining the movement of goods across the emirate.

The newly launched Al Aliah Ferry Terminal strengthens connectivity between the island and mainland Abu Dhabi, offering improved maritime transport services.

Spanning 3,900 square meters, the terminal features a waiting area with a 60-passenger seating capacity, alongside 15-meter and 12.5-meter berths designed to accommodate roll-on/roll-off (ro-ro) vessels.

Additionally, the facility houses an 80-square-meter office building, seven dedicated parking spaces, six truck bays, and accommodations for ferry crew members.

Developed by the Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility), a subsidiary of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Maritime under AD Ports Group, the terminal marks a significant step in the emirate’s maritime expansion.

Captain Saif Al Mheiri, CEO of Abu Dhabi Maritime and Chief Sustainability Officer at AD Ports Group, highlighted the project as a key milestone in Abu Dhabi’s ongoing maritime infrastructure enhancement, following the launch of the Saadiyat Ferry Terminal last year.

This latest development aligns with Abu Dhabi’s vision of integrating smart and sustainable technologies into its transport network, reinforcing the emirate’s position as a leader in modern maritime infrastructure.
