Morocco’s Tourism Industry Exceeds 2026 Growth Goal

By the end of 2024, Morocco had surpassed its tourism objective by 17.4 million visitors, two years ahead of the 2026 plan.

The latest figures, which were issued today by Morocco’s Ministry of Tourism, show a 20% rise in comparison to 2023.

The ministry credited the encouraging trend to both foreign visitors, who brought in 8.8 million tourists

Additionally, the development was a 35% increase above the 2019 figures.

Tourism Minister emphasized that it is a reflection of the “considerable progress our country is experiencing”

“Our government’s targeted investments in this crucial sector for our nation’s economy, along with the ongoing mobilization of industry professionals, are the reason for this outstanding performance,” the minister stated.

One of the main pillars of Morocco’s economy has been the travel and tourist industry.

By 2026, Morocco has long aimed to welcome 17 million visitors.

Reaching the goal two years ahead of schedule is a sign that the nation will be able to draw in more million tourists.

As Morocco prepares to strengthen its leadership by co-hosting the 2030 World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal.
