British Airways flight diverted from Heathrow after lightning struck it and finally made a safe landing for the Tourists

After being rerouted to Gatwick instead of Heathrow, the aircraft made a safe landing there.

The flight of British Airways had to be rerouted when it was struck by lightning while approaching Heathrow Airport.

The Sun reports that a lightning strike caused the BA flight from Stuttgart to Heathrow to veer to Gatwick.

“The BA crew were amazing when our flight got struck by lightning on the approach to Heathrow,” passenger Jeco stated.

It was startling. The aircraft had to be diverted to Gatwick.

This afternoon at 2.24 pm, the diverted flight touched down at Gatwick, slightly under an hour behind schedule.

After disembarking, passengers were taken from Gatwick to Heathrow, according to a report in the Sun.

According to a statement from British Airways, “Earlier this afternoon, due to weather-related difficulties in the area, BA919 was diverted to Gatwick.

“The aircraft touched down just shy of 2:00 PM. Drivers transported passengers from Gatwick to Heathrow.”

Experts estimate that most planes are struck by lightning once or twice a year.

Seldom do the incidents result in significant harm or damage.
