British Airways & Virgin Atlantic Planes collide at Heathrow Airport

British Airways & Virgin Atlantic Boeing aircrafts struck one other on the ground at London’s Heathrow Airport on Saturday.

The British Airways aircraft has been clipped by the wingtip of an empty Virgin Atlantic flight.

The largest airport in the UK is having no operational disruptions, and no Tourists is hurt in the collision.

In a statement, British Airways says,

“The engineering team is assessing our aircraft and are providing an alternative aircraft to limit the impact on our customers.”

This incident is happening at Terminal 3, at Heathrow Airport.

Virgin Atlantic Boeing 787-9 has just landed and was being hauled to another area of the runway.

The good news the aircraft is empty and no Tourists and passenger or cabin crew is hurt.

Virgin Atlantic is just completing it’s long flight then this tragedy happens.

The aircraft is pulling out of operation for the time being, however our engineering staff are doing maintenance inspections.

We are starting a complete and thorough investigation, adds a Virgin Atlantic representative.

The airline assures customers that there will be no changes to the flight itinerary.

Heathrow Reaction

In reaction to the situation, Heathrow is coordinating with the two airlines and emergency services.

The situation is under management and control besides it is not affecting flight schedules of other Airlines and crafts.

47-year-old private pilot Alex Whittles, at present at the scene, says the accident was inevitable.

“A tug misjudged the angle and clearly going to clip the British Airways aircraft, pushing back an empty Virgin 787,” he adds

“I was watching so closely because of this, and then I saw the crash.”

Whittles continue saying that emergency personnel has come to rescue so quickly.
