Emirates A380 Damage in Moscow
Emirates A380 Damage in Moscow after servicing and ready waiting for Tourists and other passengers to board to Dubai.
The Aircraft found itself in a difficult situation following an A380 crash Moscow Demodedovo Airport resulting in a ramp disaster.
The Super Jumbo is pulling out of service, with several cancellations, the airline states.
Following a servicing truck “made contact” with the aircraft’s belly at DME Airport
Although who is struck in the accident is unclear, there is a lot of damage done.
It’s also unclear if sanctions placed on Russia for its invasion of Ukraine will make repairs more difficult.
It seems that before the aircraft can be flown away, repairs must be made in Moscow.
When the incident happened, the plane was getting ready for a Tour to Dubai.
Thank goodness there was no occupants aboard at the time of the accident.
On a subsequent flight, they were accommodated.
Emirates A380 return to Dubai
Emirates has, though, found an easy way around the EU sanctions and is flying the damaged aircraft (registration A6-EDM) back to Dubai as a special ferry service. No passengers will be onboard.
They will be using a special flight number that has previously been used for a couple of other ferry flights from Moscow to Dubai in recent months.
Flight Radar shows that the A380 will reach altitudes of 41,000 feet during the five-hour flight – a sign that the damage might not be as bad as first feared.
The flight will depart Moscow at 2 am and land without incident at Dubai International Airport at around 8 am.
Emirates has its own engineering centre at DXB which is capable of performing heavy maintenance programmes.
Emirates says that “the safety of its passengers and crew is of paramount importance.”
Tens of thousands of Tourists and passengers fly with Emirates each month on its three daily flights on A380s.
